Crew DOOD Tools

Departments, linked second jobs, cell history, Scheduling Only, and the Pay & Days, Paperwork, Prep and Wrap column groups on the Crew DOOD.

Departments

Department headers on the Crew DOOD carry the same rename and delete icons as the crew list. Order is set on the list by dragging a header, and the DOOD follows. Every department change reaches the call sheet back on every day. A new department appears there straight away with two blank rows to type into. A rename renames the section. A delete moves the department's crew to Unassigned, and Ctrl+Z brings the department back.

Scheduling Only

Scheduling Only is a switch in the DOOD toolbar. On, it hides the rate, pay and invoice columns, leaving the board as an AD-level member sees it. It is one setting across every DOOD in the app (crew, cast, background, lodging, transpo). AD-level members see neither the switch nor the columns.

Editing Days

Clicking a day cell does not change it. A crew day on the DOOD is that person's line on the call sheet back, so the click opens Edit Crew Work Days instead, with an Edit DOOD button that turns on Speed Schedule. In Speed Schedule, click a cell to toggle it, drag across a run of days, or Shift+Click to fill a rectangle. Exit Scheduling Mode when you are done.

Tip: The crew list's On CS column is guarded the same way. It offers Go to CS Back or Speed Schedule, and changes nothing itself.

One Person, Two Jobs

Type a name that is already on the crew and G-Casper Pro asks "Same person?". Yes links the rows. No is remembered for the rest of the session, so the same pair is not asked about again. The second row stops repeating the name and reads "same person as" followed by the first row's title. Right-click a row for "Add another job for this crew member" or "Not the same person (unlink)". Head counts count the person once.

Important: When both of someone's jobs are scheduled on the same day, an amber triangle appears beside their name. The tooltip lists the days. It is a warning only and never blocks the schedule.

Who Changed This Day

Right-click any day cell, empty ones and off days included, to see its history. Each entry says what happened (Put on this day, Taken off this day, Changed to travel, Changed to working), who did it, and when, with a real date and time. The source line says where the change was made: DOOD grid, Call sheet crew calls, Copied from another day, or Bulk schedule edit.

Tip: "No recorded changes to this day" means the cell has been that way since the import, or it was changed before this grid tracked edits.

Column Groups

On the Producer tier the money sits in bands either side of the days. The Company plan widens each band, and any band with a + or - in its header folds down to one summary column.

Prep and Wrap Days on the Grid

The Prep and Wrap column groups hold pay for those periods. The days themselves are real columns too: prep weeks run in front of the shoot and wrap weeks after it, each banded with its own week label. Schedule the art department on P14 the same way as a grip on Day 3. See The Days Tab: Prep, Shoot and Wrap for how those days are numbered.

Copy, Cut and Paste on the Crew List

Right-click anywhere on a crew list row for Copy, Cut and Paste on the cell under the pointer. It works on a cell that is mid-edit too, where the browser's own menu would otherwise be swallowed. The cast list has the same menu.
