The Pill in the Corner
Bottom right of the app, just above the tab bar, sits a small pill with two buttons. The megaphone opens the feedback form. The question mark opens Quick Help.
Quick Help
Quick Help is a panel, top to bottom:
- A Quickstart strip for the tab you are on, when that tab has a walkthrough. It reads Quickstart for CS Back, Quickstart for Lodging and so on, with one line on what it covers. Click it to open the walkthrough
- A search box. It matches article titles and descriptions
- A walkthrough video covering call sheets, scheduling, crew and collaboration, shown while the search box is empty
- Articles for the tab you are on: Crew & Cast articles on the Crew tab, Scheduling articles on Days. Six on a computer, three on a phone
- Email support, which starts a message to info@cinetools.io, and Help Center, which opens the full library
Tab Walkthroughs
Twelve tabs carry a short walkthrough called a Quickstart: CS Front, CS Back, Weather, Days, Crew, Cast, Background, Breakdown, Lodging, Transpo, Exhibit G and Burn Rate. Welcome, Globals, PR Front, PR Back and Hot Costs have none. A walkthrough opens by itself when you arrive at its tab. After that it waits three days before opening itself again. Got it closes it. On Crew, Cast, Background, Lodging and Transpo there is a second page for Producers. Producer tools pages across to it, and so do the arrow keys or a swipe on a phone. An AD-level member sees one line saying what the Producer page covers, and stays on the first page.
Switching Walkthroughs Off
Tick Don't show this again at the bottom left of the walkthrough. It counts the moment you tick it, even if you then close with Escape or the X. The answer is kept per tab and per browser. Switching off CS Back on your laptop leaves it on for Crew, and leaves your phone alone. To read a switched-off walkthrough, open Quick Help on that tab and click its Quickstart strip. Untick the box there and it goes back to opening by itself.
Sending Feedback
The megaphone opens Share your feedback. Pick Bug, Feature request, General or Praise, add a star rating if you like, and write what happened. Attach screenshot takes an image up to 3 MB. Send Feedback stays greyed out until there is a message. The form sends your name, the tab you were on, the page address and your browser along with the message, so a bug report does not have to explain where you were. It reaches the G-Casper Pro team by email.
Help & Instructions on Welcome
The Welcome tab has a Help & Instructions sub-tab. It lays out the G-Casper workflow as eleven numbered tabs from Globals to PR Back, a table of contents for the tabs, and a six-step Quick Start Tutorial. Click an entry to jump to that tab. The Resources block links to the Feature Requests board.
Feature Requests
The Feature Requests board is public, at /feature-requests. Requests are ranked by votes, up minus down, and a row of filters narrows them by category: Email, Location, Schedule, Weather, Import, Export, Crew/Cast, Documents, Automation, Integration. Requests from the G-Casper Pro team carry an Official badge. Voting and suggesting need an account with a confirmed email. Without one, Request a Feature opens a waitlist sign-up instead. Signed in and confirmed, you get Suggest a Feature at the top. The title needs at least 10 characters and the description at least 30. Links and code are refused. An email confirms the suggestion arrived.
