What is Day Out of Days?
Day Out of Days (DOOD) is an industry-standard report that shows which days each crew member, cast member, or department is assigned to work. DOODs complement your call sheets by showing the big picture of who's working when.
Why DOODs Matter
DOODs help you:
- Communicate work day assignments with crew and cast
- Spot gaps or overlaps in assignments
- Calculate total work days for budgeting and contracts
- Track start and wrap dates for each person
- Coordinate department availability across the production
DOOD Views Available
G-Casper Pro provides three DOOD views:
| View | Shows | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Crew DOOD | All crew members by department | Work day tracking, department coordination |
| Cast DOOD | All cast members | Actor work days, contract planning |
| Background DOOD | Background performer quantities | Extras coordination, SAG tracking |
Reading the DOOD Grid
The DOOD is a grid: names/positions on the left, shoot days across the top, status codes in each cell. Crew and Cast DOODs share some codes but have differences:

DOOD and Call Sheets
DOODs tie directly into your call sheets. Mark someone as working on a day and they appear on that day's call sheet. Mark them OFF and they don't.
