Why Meal Info Matters

A crew that knows when and where they're eating is a crew that stays focused. G-Casper Pro helps you communicate all meal information clearly so nobody misses a meal break and nobody triggers a penalty.

Tip: Include meal location details even when they seem obvious. On a new location, crew needs to know exactly where to go.

Breakfast Information

Set up breakfast details that appear on your call sheet:

FieldDescriptionExample
Breakfast AvailableWhen breakfast service begins6:00 AM
Breakfast LocationWhere breakfast is servedBase Camp Catering Tent
Breakfast EndsWhen breakfast service closes7:00 AM (or Crew Call)
Walking BreakfastOption for on-the-go breakfast itemsYes - at Crafty Table

Lunch Break Setup

Configure your first meal break (usually lunch):

  • Set approximate lunch time (adjusts based on actual shooting)
  • Specify lunch duration (typically 30 minutes or 1 hour)
  • Indicate if meal is served or provided (walk-away)
  • Add location if different from breakfast
  • Include any special notes (dietary lines, time restrictions)
Tip: Many productions put 'TBD' for lunch time on the call sheet since it depends on shooting progress. The 1st AD announces actual meal times on set.

Meal Penalty Prevention

G-Casper Pro helps you track meal timing to avoid costly penalties:

Meal RuleTypical TimingPenalty If Violated
First MealWithin 6 hours of callMeal penalty every 30 min
Second MealWithin 6 hours of first meal wrapMeal penalty applies
Walkaway MealsMust be non-deductible if requiredVaries by agreement
Important: Meal penalty rules vary by union and location. G-Casper Pro's timers are a guide - always verify rules with your production's specific agreements.

Dietary Accommodations

Capture dietary needs for cast and crew:

  • Common dietary needs: Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Halal
  • Allergies are tracked separately with high visibility
  • Dietary info can be shared with catering directly from G-Casper Pro
  • Dietary preferences can be updated in individual crew member profiles
  • A summary of dietary needs can be exported for your caterer

Craft Services (Crafty)

Document your craft services setup:

Crafty InfoWhat to Include
LocationWhere the crafty table is set up
HoursWhen crafty is available
ContactCrafty coordinator name and phone
Special ItemsCoffee call time, hot crafty, etc.
Tip: Make sure crew can find crafty easily on the call sheet. Include the location even if it seems obvious.
