Where It Lives
Texts go out from the SMS tab of the same dialog that sends email. The recipients are the crew, cast and background scheduled on the day who have a phone number, grouped the same way as on the To tab. Anyone scheduled without a number is listed in a warning at the top.
The Text They'll Get
The message is shown filled in, the way one person will read it, in a blue bubble. The stock text carries the show name, the person's name, the shoot date, the general crew call, the crew parking address, the call sheet link, and a production contact to call with questions. Texts come from a shared number nobody answers, so the contact line gives crew someone to call. The contact comes from your 2nd AD or producer. With nobody to name, the dialog tells you to add a phone number to one of them, and the line drops out of the text, so nobody receives "Questions? Call :".

Editing the Template
Edit opens the template. Words in double curly braces are swapped for each person's own details:

Length and Cost
The counter under the preview reads characters against the limit for one text: 160 for plain text. A single emoji or curly quote switches the whole message to Unicode, the limit drops to 70, and the counter says so. Past one text it turns amber and shows how many texts the message will be split into. Each person sent to uses one SMS credit from the production owner's allowance. If the allowance cannot cover the whole list, the whole send is refused and the dialog shows how many credits are left.
What You Cannot Change
Three rules sit outside the template:
- "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for info." is added to the end of every text. Carriers require it
- Only gcasper.com links go through. Carriers filter texts carrying other links
- Anyone who replied STOP is left out until they opt back in themselves
Sending
The first time you open the SMS tab, the dialog asks you to confirm that the people you text have agreed to receive messages from the production. You answer that once for your account. Send SMS to N People starts the same seven-second undo window as email. After that, delivery shows per person on the Delivery Status tab.
