What is the Globals Tab?

The Globals tab holds the core information that appears on every call sheet you generate. It controls everything from your production title to the colors of your scene strips.

Tip: Set up your Globals tab first before creating any call sheets. Get the fundamentals in place before you start building days.

Production Information

The production information section captures the essential details that identify your production:

FieldDescriptionExample
Production TitleThe official name of your picture"Sunset Boulevard: The Return"
Production CompanyThe production company behind the pictureParamount Pictures
Episode/Episode TitleFor episodic work, the episode number and titleS02E05 - "The Reckoning"
DirectorThe director's name (appears on call sheet front)Christopher Nolan
Executive ProducerEP credit for the productionSteven Spielberg
ProducerLine producer or producer nameKathleen Kennedy

Key Contacts Section

The key contacts section defines who appears in the header of every call sheet:

  • Unit Production Manager (UPM) - The person running the money and logistics
  • 1st Assistant Director (1st AD) - The person running the set
  • 2nd Assistant Director (2nd AD) - The person running the paperwork and talent
  • Production Coordinator (PC) - The office point of contact
  • Location Manager - For location-specific questions
Tip: Include cell phone numbers for key contacts. When it's 5 AM and someone can't find base camp, they need to reach someone fast.

Company Details

This section stores your production company's legal and contact information:

  • Company name and legal entity
  • Production office address
  • Main office phone and fax numbers
  • Production email address
  • Payroll company information (if different)
Important: Make sure your company information is accurate - this appears on official documents like Exhibit G forms and may be used for legal purposes.

Scene Color Configuration

The Globals tab is where you define the color scheme for your scene strips. These colors help crew quickly identify scene types at a glance:

Scene TypeTraditional ColorWhat It Represents
INT DAYWhiteInterior daytime scenes - the bread and butter
INT NIGHTGreenInterior nighttime scenes
EXT DAYYellowExterior daytime scenes
EXT NIGHTBlueExterior nighttime scenes - often the most complex
INT/EXT MorningSalmonMorning scenes that transition between interior and exterior
INT/EXT EveningOrangeEvening scenes that transition between interior and exterior
Tip: Stick with industry-standard colors when possible. Your 1st AD will thank you when they're flipping through the one-liner at 6 AM.

Saving and Syncing

Changes made in the Globals tab sync across all your call sheets automatically. Update a contact number or production title, and every call sheet in your production reflects it instantly.
