What Exhibit G is
Exhibit G is an employment contract used by SAG-AFTRA signatory productions to track background performer work. It records each performer's name, Social Security Number (or work authorization), the scenes they appeared in, their call time, wrap time, and daily pay rate.
Every background performer on a SAG-AFTRA signatory production must sign an Exhibit G for each day they work.
What Exhibit G records
Each Exhibit G captures:
- Background performer's name and Social Security Number (or work authorization number)
- The production title and date
- The scenes the performer appeared in
- Call time and wrap time
- Check-in and check-out times
- Meal break times
- Wardrobe and prop fees if applicable
- Mileage if applicable
- Performer's signature
When Exhibit G is required
Exhibit G is required on any SAG-AFTRA signatory production that employs background performers under the SAG-AFTRA Basic Agreement or any agreement covering background work. Non-union productions and productions that use only non-union BG do not use Exhibit G, though they may have their own paperwork.
Using SAG-AFTRA background performers without proper Exhibit G documentation can result in grievances and financial penalties under your production's signatory agreement.
Who handles Exhibit G on set
The 2nd AD manages background performers on set. The production coordinator or production office handles the paperwork processing. A set PA often collects signed Exhibit G forms at the end of each background performer's day.
On large productions with many background performers, a background coordinator may handle this full time.
How G-Casper Pro handles Exhibit G
G-Casper Pro generates Exhibit G forms from the background performer data already in your production. Call times, scenes, and performer information are pulled from your call sheet. The forms are formatted to SAG-AFTRA specifications and ready to print or sign digitally.
You do not need to enter the same information twice.
